About Us
Counseling Associates was founded in 2004 by Betsy Harrison, LCMHC, and Susan Borchert, PhD with a small office in New London, NH. Over the past 20 years, our practice has grown.
We now have offices in eight New Hampshire locations. In 2024, we opened an office in Hattiesburg, Mississippi to expand our reach and diversify clinical expertise.
Counseling Associates now has 84 clinical employees, including interns and licensed providers.
Our medication management program, which started five years ago, now includes three child providers and four adult providers, one of whom specializes in older adult treatment.
Our practice emphasizes a clinician-centered approach and has won several awards [link], including a 2024 New Hampshire Business Review Business Excellence Award in Healthcare.
We’re unique because we accept most insurances, including Medicare and Medicaid, to improve access and affordability for quality mental health treatment. We focus on providing highly trained clinicians who can meet with people of all ages in a variety of locations, including telehealth.
Our plans for the future include expanding our doctoral and master’s training programs, collaborating with partner organizations for innovative training for our clinicians, and continuing to find new ways to support our communities.
