Vanessa is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in both New Hampshire and Florida. Originally from Miami Beach, she has experience working with Spanish-speaking clients from diverse Latin American backgrounds. During her clinical and post-graduate training, Vanessa worked with court-mandated individuals navigating a range of issues, including domestic violence, substance use, and sexual offenses.
Now based in the Upper Valley, Vanessa enjoys serving the local community and working with Dartmouth College students. She is particularly interested in supporting clients dealing with Anxiety, Depression and Trauma. In therapy, she strives to create a supportive and open environment where clients feel safe exploring their values, goals, and challenges. Vanessa emphasizes each client’s strengths while gently encouraging them to confront discomfort and grow through it. Her ultimate goal is to help clients become their own best resource—learning to understand themselves deeply and navigate life with greater clarity and confidence.
Vanessa takes a psychodynamic approach, supporting clients in developing emotional awareness and working through unresolved experiences that may influence current patterns and decision-making. She integrates evidence-based practices, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), tailoring treatment to meet each client’s unique needs.
