If you’re feeling uncertain about whether or not to start therapy, please know that you are welcome here. So much of Ellie’s work with clients is focused on getting to know the parts of us that have protected us for so long and are understandably resistant to change. Her work is based in the belief that people are generally doing the best they can with the knowledge and resources they have. It’s important to Ellie to honor the ways that even our “worst” coping skills have served us during painful times. Ellie seeks to really understand where folks are in the present as well as what their goals are for the future. She has experience with a wide variety of presenting concerns and has a special focus on trauma/complex trauma and emotional dysregulation.
Ellie works with youth (ages 12+) and adults and currently provides individual and group therapy (ask me about Living Fully!). She also enjoys working with clients who work in human services and/or mental healthcare. Ellie’s approach is eclectic and is tailored to each client. She often utilizes interventions from Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). In her life outside of the therapy room, she enjoys spending time outdoors, making crafts, and creating a Spotify playlist for nearly every occasion.
