Jim Esposito is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor with a non-judgmental, practical approach in working with clients to collaboratively remove obstacles that impede fulfilment and happiness. He believes that happiness is not a goal but the result of achieving one’s potential. Jim embraces two basic principles. Firstly, the further you drift from the present moment the more you drift from happiness and gratitude, and the past and the future are good places to visit provided that the past is a place of learning and the future is a place of aspiration and planning. All too often, the past becomes a place of regret and the future a place of worry.
The second principle also relates to happiness. Jim works with his clients to draw the distinction between happiness and safety and the need to make a fundamental choice. Because happiness requires some risk to venture out of one’s safety zone to explore behaviors outside of what may feel safe but confining one’s potential. Therefore, learning skills that can increase one’s capacity for discomfort is essential and the “vehicle” to get us to a happier place.
