Michael Bednar, PsyD Doctoral Intern

(he/him/his)

I have a special interest and research background in supporting minority youth identifying as LGBTQIA+ and Indigenous in the adolescent to emerging adulthood range (12 to 26 years). I specialize in developing valuable life skills for such youth and young adults dealing with depression, anxiety, sleep difficulties, and ASD. Young men in particular face these challenges, often alone, and I wish to help them successfully navigate these to set themselves on a path in line with their values, so that they may lead a better life. I have also begun to focus my research on young men and their experiences with cancer with the goal of helping them move effectively through such a traumatic event, as well as inform specific interventions to improve medical treatment outcomes.
