Before pursuing a career in therapy, I spent many years as an elementary school teacher, where I developed a deep appreciation for the resilience of children, the importance of healthy relationships, and the unique strengths that every individual possesses. I work with couples, families, and individuals of all ages, with a particular interest in helping clients navigate relational challenges, strengthen connections, and create meaningful change in their lives. I provide compassionate, non-judgmental, collaborative therapy to help clients overcome feelings of sadness, loneliness, and despair, as they navigate life’s challenges. My therapeutic orientation is a systemic approach, where problems are understood to reside in the space between individuals, and solutions are achieved through understanding not only oneself, but the many contexts in which we live and the people who occupy those spaces. I utilize interventions based in EFT, solution-focused, and narrative therapy modalities, and enjoy customizing my approach based on individual needs.
As a parent and a grandparent, I have a deep appreciation of both the joys and the complexities of relationships across the lifespan. I believe that people are morethan the problems they face, and I strive to create a supportive space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to build on their existing strengths.Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy gardening, cooking, hiking and snowshoeing with my spouse and our three dogs, and spending time with my grown childrenand grandson.
